Tip 1: Pick The Right Haircare Products

The shampoo and conditioner that you use when washing your hair need to be chosen carefully, as each product is tailored for a certain type of hair. What works for your friend might not work for you. However, good products share similar ingredients.

Silicones and sulfates are two elements that cause hair to appear dry and unattractive. For that reason, experts advise that you select hair products that don’t contain either of these. So, read through the ingredients list carefully next time you purchase haircare products.

Tip 2: Wash Your Hair Less Often

After washing your hair, it’s time to dry it. First, remove most of the water using a towel to accelerate the drying process. Do not towel your hair too vigorously, as a few strands will get stuck and be stretched beyond their breaking point.

Air-drying is definitely better than blow-drying since less pressure is applied to the hair, but if you need to use the hairdryer, do so wisely. Adjust the temperature to low or intermediate, distance the dryer from your hair (20 cm), and ensure your locks remain slightly damp to avoid overheating.

Tip 5: Massage Your Scalp Regularly

Continuing the previous point, massaging the scalp regularly improves circulation and the distribution of nutrients across the scalp, thus stimulating new hair growth. Direct your fingers to those areas of your scalp where the hair seems to be thinning or falling.

Adding oils (coconut, almond, rosemary oil, for example) to the process makes it even more effective. Massaging your scalp relaxes the muscles and keeps it soft and healthy. Make sure you apply sufficient pressure without pushing too firmly. Continue for a few minutes.

Tip 6: Eat a Healthy Diet
