Hair Transplant Cost in the UK: Complete 2026 Breakdown
Honest pricing from a clinic with 20+ years of UK practice. We charge by procedure size, not graft count — so you know what you’re paying before surgery, not after. Starting from £3,500.
The headline numbers
Hair transplant surgery at Vinci starts at £3,500. Final cost depends on the size of the procedure — not the number of grafts. Most patients sit in the Medium or Large bracket.
Our pricing is fixed before surgery during your consultation. We do not charge per graft because the exact graft count can only be determined on the day, and graft-based pricing creates an incentive to harvest more grafts than necessary.
Size-based pricing tiers
Small
Targeted work: temple definition, minor hairline refinement, scar concealment.
Medium
Hairline restoration, frontal third, mild crown thinning.
Large
Full frontal + mid-scalp, or hairline + crown combined.
Max
Maximum single-session capacity, advanced Norwood stages.
Indicative prices for FUE at our London surgical clinic. Manchester pricing is within ±5%. Treatment-clinic procedures (PRP, MSP, Mesotherapy) are priced separately — see non-surgical treatments.
Why size-based pricing, not graft count
The graft count for any patient cannot be finalised until the surgeon assesses donor density on the day. Quoting “£X per graft” forces the patient to commit to a number that hasn’t been clinically verified — and creates a financial incentive to harvest more grafts.
Pricing by procedure size puts the clinical decision (how many grafts to take) and the commercial decision (how much you pay) in separate boxes. Your surgeon recommends the right number; the price doesn’t move.

Reviewed by our medical team
“The biggest cost shock patients describe to me is the post-op cost they didn’t expect — a flight back to Istanbul for a touch-up, time off work after a botched repair, or paying again to fix a hairline that didn’t take. Honest pricing has to include what happens 6 and 12 months after surgery, not just the day of the procedure.”
Hidden costs to watch for at other clinics
“From £X” pricing without a maximum
Some clinics advertise a low entry price but don’t disclose the upper bound. By the time you’ve committed, you’ve been quoted 2–3× the headline figure.
Per-graft pricing on a sliding scale
“£3 per graft” sounds cheap until you discover the surgeon has harvested 4,500 grafts. Always ask: what’s the realistic upper-bound total for my Norwood stage?
Aftercare and follow-up charged separately
A consultation at 3 months should not cost extra. Confirm that follow-ups, aftercare kits, and revision protocols are included.
Repair-case loophole
If results don’t take, a UK clinic should offer a written guarantee. Many overseas clinics offer free “repair” but require you to fly back at your own expense, often within a strict 12-month window.
UK vs Turkey: total cost of ownership
| Vinci UK (Medium) | Typical Turkey package | |
|---|---|---|
| Procedure | £5,500 | £1,800–£2,500 |
| Surgeon-led (not technician-led) | Yes | Variable — often technician-led |
| Flights + accommodation | £0 | £400–£800 |
| Aftercare access in your home country | Included (in-person) | WhatsApp / email only |
| Repair if results fail | 12-month written guarantee | Usually requires return flight |
| Realistic total at 12 months | £5,500 | £2,200–£4,000 (more if repair needed) |
The gap narrows when you include the things that aren’t in the headline package. See our full Turkey vs UK comparison guide.
Financing and payment options
Surgery can be split across 0% finance plans of 6, 12 and 24 months, subject to credit approval. A Medium procedure on a 24-month plan comes to roughly £230 per month at 0% APR.
We do not require the full amount before consultation. A £100 consultation deposit secures your slot and is deducted from the procedure fee if you proceed.
FAQs
Is the consultation really free?
The initial enquiry call is free. An in-clinic surgical consultation with a doctor is £100, deducted from the procedure fee if you proceed. We charge for this because a surgical consultation includes diagnostic work and donor mapping — not a sales pitch.
Why is your “From” higher than some clinics?
We’re a UK-regulated, surgeon-led clinic with 20 years of practice and 100,000+ patients. Our overheads include a CQC-registered facility, in-clinic aftercare, and surgeons who carry UK medical-defence cover. Clinics priced significantly below £3,500 are usually either offshore or technician-led.
Do you price-match?
No — and we’d be wary of any clinic that does. Hair transplant pricing reflects clinical setup, surgeon experience, and aftercare. A clinic willing to match a discount price is signalling that the original price was inflated to begin with.
What does a Norwood 6 cost?
Advanced Norwood stages typically need our Max-size procedure (£9,500) or a staged plan across two sessions. Your consultation will give you the exact figure for your case.
Are women priced the same?
Yes. Procedures are priced by size, not by gender. Female-pattern hair loss usually requires a different surgical approach (density redistribution rather than hairline restoration), but the price tiers are identical.
What about non-surgical treatments?
PRP, MSP, and Mesotherapy are priced separately and start from £350 per session. Most patients require an induction series of three sessions, then maintenance every 6–12 months.
