What Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules are and\n what they are used for<\/b><br>\nFinasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules contain finasteride.<br>\nFinasteride belongs to the group of medicine called 5-\nalpha reductase inhibitors.<br>\nYour doctor has prescribed Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/\nCapsules because you have male pattern hair loss (also known as androgenetic alopecia). Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules prevent further hair loss in men. Men with mild to moderate, but not complete hair loss, can benefit from using Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/ Capsules. \n<br>Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules block an important enzyme (Type II 5 a-reductase), which is involved in the regulation of the hair follicle.<br>\nIn the scalp, Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules\nspecifically lower the levels of DHT, a major cause of male pattern hair loss. In this way, Finasteride 1 mg\nTablets\/Capsules help to reverse the balding process and prevent further hair loss. \n<br><br>\n<b>2. Before you take Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/ Capsules \n<\/b><br>\nDo not take Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules:<br>\n\u2022 If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to finasteride or any\n other ingredients of Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/ Capsules.<br>\n\u2022 If you are a child or adolescent.<br>\n\u2022 If you are a woman (see also \u2018Pregnancy and breast-\n feeding\u2019).<br>\n\u2022 If you are already taking finasteride or any other 5a\n reductase inhibitor for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BHP) or any other condition. \n<br><br>\n<b>Take special care with Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/\nCapsules:<\/b><br>\nFinasteride may affect male fertility. Patients who are\nplanning to father a child should consider stopping\ntreatment. <br><br>\nYou should promptly report to your doctor any changes in\nyour breast tissue such as lumps, pain, enlargement of the breast tissue or nipple discharge as these may be signs of a serious condition, such as breast cancer. \n<br><br>\n<b>Taking other medicines: <\/b>\n<br>Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules do not usually interfere\nwith other medicines. Please tell your doctor or pharmacist\nif you are taking or have recently taken any other\nmedicines, including medicines obtained without a\nprescription. <\/br>\n<br>\n<b>Taking Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules with food\nand drink: <\/b><br>\nFinasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules can be taken with or without food. \n<br><br>\n<b>Pregnancy and breast-feeding:<\/b><br>\nFinasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules are only intended for men even though in special cases doctors can prescribe it for women. Women who are or may potentially be pregnant should not handle Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules especially if\nbroken or crushed.\n<br><br>\nAsk your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.\n<br><br>\n<b>Driving and using machines:<\/b><br>\nThere is no information to suggest that Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules affect the ability to drive and use\nmachines. \n<br><br>\n<b>Important Information about some if the ingredients of\nFinasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules:<\/b><br> This medicinal\nproduct may contain traces of lactose. If your doctor has\ntold you that you have intolerance to some sugars, contact\nyour doctor before taking this medicinal product. \n<br><br>\n<b>3. How to take Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules<\/b><br>\nThe usual dose is one Finasteride 1 mg tablet\/capsule daily (equivalent to 1 mg finasteride).\nThe tablets\/capsules can either be taken on an empty\nstomach or with a meal. The film-coated tablets should be\nswallowed whole and should not be divided or crushed.\n<br>\n\u2022 Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules will not work faster or better if you take them more than once a day.<br>\n\u2022 Male pattern hair loss is a condition that develops over a long period of time. In general, daily use for six months maybe necessary before you notice any increase in the hair density or reduction in hair loss.<br>\n\u2022 Your doctor will help you assess if Finasteride 1 mg\nTablets\/Capsules are working. It is important to continue taking Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/ Capsules for as long as your doctor prescribes them.\n<br><br>\n<b>Patients with impaired liver function<\/b><br>\nThere is no information available on the use of Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules in patients with impaired liver function.\n<br><br>\n<b>Patients with impaired kidney function <\/b><br>No dosage adjustment is required in patients with impaired kidney function. \n<br><br>\n<b>If you forget to take Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/\nCapsules:<\/b><br>\nIf you forget to take a dose of FINASTERIDE 1 MG\nTablets\/Capsules, just carry on with the next one as usual.\nDo not take a double dose to make up for the forgotten\ndose.\n<br><br>\n<b>If you stop taking Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/ Capsules:<\/b><br>\nContinued use of Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules is recommended to obtain maximum benefit. If the treatment is stopped in between, you are likely to lose the hair you have gained within the next 9 to 12 months.\n<br><br>\nIf you have any further questions on the use if this\nmedicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.\n<br><br>\n<b>4. Possible side effects<\/b><br>\nLike all medicine, Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.\nThe side effects have usually been temporary with\ncontinued treatment or disappeared when treatment is\nstopped.<br><br>\nUncommon (occur in less than 1 in 100 users):<br>\n\u2022 less desire to have sex<br>\n\u2022 difficulty having an erection<br>\n\u2022 problems with ejaculation such as a decrease in the\namount of semen released during sex.<br>\n\u2022 depression<br><br>\n<b>Frequency unknown:<\/b><br>\n\u2022 allergic reactions such as rash, itching, lumps under your skin (hives) and swelling of your lips and face<br>\n\u2022 breast swelling or tenderness<br>\n\u2022 pain in the testicles<br>\n\u2022 fast heartbeat<br>\n\u2022persistent difficulty having an erection after\ndiscontinuation of treatment<br>\n\u2022 infertility has been reported in men who took finasteride for a long time and had other risk factors that may affect fertility. Normalization or improvement of seminal quality has been reported after discontinuation of finasteride.\nLong-term clinical studies about the effect of finasteride\non fertility in men have not been conducted.<br>\n\u2022 Changes in the way your liver is working, which can be shown by a blood test. \n<br><br>\n<b>Stop taking Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules and talk to your doctor immediately if you have any of the following symptoms:<\/b><br>\n\u2022 swelling of your face, tongue or throat<br>\n\u2022 difficulty swallowing<br>\n\u2022 lumps under your skin (hives)<br>\n\u2022 breathing difficulties\n<br><br>\nIf any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.\n<br><br>\n<b>5. How to store Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/ Capsules<\/b><br>\n\u2022 Keep out of the reach and sight of children.<br>\n\u2022 This medicinal product does not require any special\nstorage conditions.<br>\n\u2022 Do not use Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules past the expiry date. The expiry date refers to the last date of the month. <br>\nMedicines should not be disposed via wastewater or\nhousehold waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment. \n<br><br>\n<b>6. Further information<\/b><br><br>\n<b> What Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules contain:<\/b><br> \nThe active substance is finasteride. What Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules are and\n what they are used for<\/b><br>\nFinasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules contain finasteride.<br>\nFinasteride belongs to the group of medicine called 5-\nalpha reductase inhibitors.<br>\nYour doctor has prescribed Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/\nCapsules because you have male pattern hair loss (also known as androgenetic alopecia). Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules prevent further hair loss in men. Men with mild to moderate, but not complete hair loss, can benefit from using Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/ Capsules. \n<br>Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules block an important enzyme (Type II 5 a-reductase), which is involved in the regulation of the hair follicle.<br>\nIn the scalp, Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules\nspecifically lower the levels of DHT, a major cause of male pattern hair loss. In this way, Finasteride 1 mg\nTablets\/Capsules help to reverse the balding process and prevent further hair loss. \n<br><br>\n<b>2. Before you take Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/ Capsules \n<\/b><br>\nDo not take Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules:<br>\n\u2022 If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to finasteride or any\n other ingredients of Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/ Capsules.<br>\n\u2022 If you are a child or adolescent.<br>\n\u2022 If you are a woman (see also \u2018Pregnancy and breast-\n feeding\u2019).<br>\n\u2022 If you are already taking finasteride or any other 5a\n reductase inhibitor for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BHP) or any other condition. \n<br><br>\n<b>Take special care with Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/\nCapsules:<\/b><br>\nFinasteride may affect male fertility. Patients who are\nplanning to father a child should consider stopping\ntreatment. <br><br>\nYou should promptly report to your doctor any changes in\nyour breast tissue such as lumps, pain, enlargement of the breast tissue or nipple discharge as these may be signs of a serious condition, such as breast cancer. \n<br><br>\n<b>Taking other medicines: <\/b>\n<br>Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules do not usually interfere\nwith other medicines. Please tell your doctor or pharmacist\nif you are taking or have recently taken any other\nmedicines, including medicines obtained without a\nprescription. <\/br>\n<br>\n<b>Taking Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules with food\nand drink: <\/b><br>\nFinasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules can be taken with or without food. \n<br><br>\n<b>Pregnancy and breast-feeding:<\/b><br>\nFinasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules are only intended for men even though in special cases doctors can prescribe it for women. If your doctor has\ntold you that you have intolerance to some sugars, contact\nyour doctor before taking this medicinal product. \n<br><br>\n<b>3. How to take Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules<\/b><br>\nThe usual dose is one Finasteride 1 mg tablet\/capsule daily (equivalent to 1 mg finasteride).\nThe tablets\/capsules can either be taken on an empty\nstomach or with a meal. The film-coated tablets should be\nswallowed whole and should not be divided or crushed.\n<br>\n\u2022 Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules will not work faster or better if you take them more than once a day.<br>\n\u2022 Male pattern hair loss is a condition that develops over a long period of time. In general, daily use for six months maybe necessary before you notice any increase in the hair density or reduction in hair loss.<br>\n\u2022 Your doctor will help you assess if Finasteride 1 mg\nTablets\/Capsules are working. It is important to continue taking Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/ Capsules for as long as your doctor prescribes them.\n<br><br>\n<b>Patients with impaired liver function<\/b><br>\nThere is no information available on the use of Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules in patients with impaired liver function.\n<br><br>\n<b>Patients with impaired kidney function <\/b><br>No dosage adjustment is required in patients with impaired kidney function. \n<br><br>\n<b>If you forget to take Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/\nCapsules:<\/b><br>\nIf you forget to take a dose of FINASTERIDE 1 MG\nTablets\/Capsules, just carry on with the next one as usual.\nDo not take a double dose to make up for the forgotten\ndose.\n<br><br>\n<b>If you stop taking Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/ Capsules:<\/b><br>\nContinued use of Finasteride 1 mg Tablets\/Capsules is recommended to obtain maximum benefit.
