UFC fighter Maur\u00edcio Milani \u2018Shogun\u2019 Rua<\/a> is a legend of the fight game. In a career spanning twenty years, the Brazilian warrior has had forty-one professional fights. That\u2019s an average of just over two fights per year. He\u2019s won twenty-seven of those and drawn one. That record has brought him a glittering array of titles. He was the 2005 PRIDE Middleweight Grand Prix Champion and is a former UFC Light Heavyweight champion, becoming only the second fighter to have won both PRIDE and UFC titles.

Before his last fight, Shogun talked to The MMA Hour<\/a> about his decision to bring the curtain down on his stellar career:

\n\n\u201cI thought about it a lot, and I think that if I had retired previously, like a while ago, I would possibly regret it and keep thinking about it and it wouldn\u2019t be good for me. Now I think it\u2019s the right time. I have come to terms, matured, and done the things I wanted.\u201d

Vinci Hair Transplant<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

That ability to focus on what he wanted to achieve has characterised Shogun\u2019s approach to life in general. He was a successful model before deciding he wanted to be a professional fighter and making that happen. When he started experiencing significant hair loss, he decided to do something about it by having a hair transplant. In November 2020, he chose Vinci Hair Clinic for his Follicular Extraction Unit (FUE)<\/a> hair transplant surgery.

\n\nVinci FUE surgery involves removing healthy hair follicles from donor sites at the back and sides of the client\u2019s head and grafting them into the bald areas of the scalp. Modern techniques enable Vinci transplant specialists to harvest the maximum amount of hair follicles in the minimum amount of time. In Shogun\u2019s case, approximately 4,500 hairs were extracted from the back of his head and implanted in the frontal area. Shogun found the transplant process itself to be comfortable enough, commenting afterwards, \u201cIt was no big deal.\u201d

\n\nThree months later, when he sat down to discuss<\/a> his transplant surgery with Vinci CEO and Founder Salvar Bj\u00f6rnsson<\/a>, he expressed his satisfaction with the outcome, telling Salvar, \u201cI\u2019m very happy. My hair is so much better now.\u201d Salvar explained to Shogun that his new look was still in the early stages of development and that it would get even better. It takes a full six to twelve months before the transplanted hairs are fully grown and the bald patch or receding hairline is completely covered. The final result is thick, natural hair that continues to grow for a lifetime.<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
